Rogue Pickleball Club is excited to host the 2022 Spring Ladder League. The league is open to 3.5 to 4.0 players who are interested in competitive play. Games begin on Thursday, March 24th and run through Thursday May 26th with no games on Thursday April 21st.  Games begin at 5:30 sharp.

What is a Ladder League?

A Ladder League is a competitive format of play that matches players of similar skill levels in weekly games against each other. For Spring 2022, there will be a 3.5 Ladder and a 3.75 Ladder.  The “Ladder” part of the league describes the ranking of players in the league.  Your ranking on a ladder is based upon your total number of points; ties are resolved by 1) Most Number of Wins and 2) Highest Point Differential. Each week players will play 7 games in a Jamboree Style format where each player plays one game with every player on the ladder. At the end of the 3rd and 6th week of play, the top two 3.5 ladder players will switch with the two lowest players on the 3.75 ladder players.

How do Games Work?

Each Ladder Division consists of 8 Players; each player will play 7 games, one game with every player in their respective Ladder. Games are played to 11, win by 1.

How do you rank players and determine which groups people play in?

Players will be placed into the Ladders based upon their skill rating.  At the end of the 3rd and 6th week of play, the top two 3.5 players will move up to the 3.75 Ladder and the bottom 2 3.75 players will move down to the 3.5 Ladder.

Note – rankings are based upon Total Points Scored from all games played; points are cumulative week to week.

At the end of the league – how is a winner determined?

The top 3 players in each Ladder with the highest number of total Points will determine the winners.  Tie breakers are 1) Most Number of Games Won and 2) Largest Point Differential.

There will be an awards ceremony/social at the end of the league!

Do I need to play every week?

We understand that life happens and you might not be able to come for all nine weeks worth of Thursday night games.  If you are unable to attend, we ask that you please contact us so the Alternate Player for that Ladder can come and play.

Who is Organizing this? Who keeps track of scores?

The Ladder League is being run by the club’s Operations Director for the Rogue Pickleball Club. He will work on seedings, and keep track of game scores, post results and highlights on the Rogue Pickleball Club News Facebook page. Yes… there is a spreadsheet.

When and Where do games take place? How Many People can Play? does skill level matter? How do I sign up?

Initially games take place at Morrison Park in Grants, Pass between 5:30pm and 8:00pm on Thursday nights.  Once the new courts at All Sports Park become available, expected end of April, games will be moved to that location as Morrison will then be closed to pickleball.  As the goal of a Ladder League is to match players of similar skill levels – anyone between 3.5 and 4.0 is welcome to join.

Do I have to be a member of the Rogue Pickleball Club in order to play?

Both club members and non-club members are eligible to join the ladder.  Cost is $15 for club member and $30 for non-club members. We hope that non-members enjoy themselves and consider joining Rogue Pickleball Club to help us cover expenses related to running the league. Visit for details.
